About

I own a construction company. That is the whole qualification.

Kenneth, founder. Utah.

I run a construction business. Payroll has to be right by Friday whether or not the software cooperated. Crews show up to a site where the material order nobody confirmed did not arrive. Bids sit in an inbox for a week because the day got away from me. Somebody quits and the only copy of how they did their job left with them.

Over the years I bought the tools that were supposed to fix all of that. Project management, CRM, scheduling, time tracking, then a layer of AI tools on top of the pile. Every one of them was happy to show me a chart. Not one of them ever said this specific thing is costing you eleven hours a week, here is what to do about it on Monday.

So I built the thing I wanted. A short phone call, real questions, and an actual answer written by someone who has had to make payroll.

Why a phone call instead of a form

Because forms produce the answer you think you are supposed to give. Talking produces the real one. Halfway through a conversation an owner will say well, we just handle that part manually — and that sentence is usually where the money is going. No questionnaire ever surfaces it.

Twelve minutes is deliberate too. It is short enough that a busy owner will actually do it, and it turns out to be plenty when the questions are the right ones.

What I am not

I am not a software vendor, so I have no product to steer you toward. A meaningful share of my recommendations are to cancel something, delete a step, or stop doing a report nobody reads. I am also not an enterprise consultancy — there is no deck, no maturity model, and no six-week discovery phase.

What I am is someone who has already made the expensive mistakes in this category and can shorten the path for you.

Who this tends to help

Owner-operated businesses somewhere between a handful of employees and a few dozen: trades and construction, restaurants, retail, logistics, professional services. The common thread is not the industry — it is being the person who both runs the operation and is supposed to improve it, with no hours left for family, friends, what matters most at the end of the day.

How to start

Call the line. Talk for twelve minutes. Read what comes back and decide for yourself whether it was worth your time.
